Ex’pression College
Emeryville, CA | San Jose, CA
When SAE Institute acquired Ex’pression College, the marketing team faced the challenge of promoting the school’s programs with little to no creative assets on hand. In a short time span and with few resources, my team was able to repurpose existing visual content while creating a completely new brand identity for the creative media college. We dug deep into researching the programs that are offered, career outcomes, notable-alumni stories, and student testimonials to gather content for this brochure.
To stand out from other college brochures in college admissions fairs, we enveloped it in a wafer-sealed envelope that folds out into a poster.
Digital Advertising
Using in-house talent and tools, we were able to create imagery relevant to all six programs offered at Ex’pression: Game Design, Graphic Design & Motion, Animation & Visual Effects, Sound Arts, Interactive Audio, and Digital Filmmaking. This offered a viable solution until we were able to obtain photo assets from Emeryville and San Jose.
Print Advertising
We adapted the imagery to create six program-specific ads that were used for magazine ads, transit ads on the San Francisco BART, and on course catalogs.
Emails
The initial lack of high-end photo assets meant we relied on vector illustrations and graphics to promote the programs. This allowed us to experiment with A/B testing on emails until we refined our copy points and calls to action.
